Mark Ticehurst

Sussex born Mark, 34, started out racing karts, where he enjoyed considerable success for the best part of a decade. Following on from karting, the next season saw him win the Alfa Romeo Championship with 11 victories and 6 second places.

Since then, Mark's never looked back. Highlights include a repeat Alfa Romeo Championship in 1996 - this time with 12 victories. Then there was 1999, a year when Mark was the "Unofficial Champion" for the Vauxhall Vectra Sri V6 Challenge and he was also the first ever person to win a race in an LPG-fuelled car.

And when it comes to the Mazda RX-8, Mark was an early Zoom-Zoomer. He launched the world's first four-seater sports car to press and Mazda dealers in 2003 and has been involved with the RX-8's progress ever since.

For a man whose other hobbies include wakeboarding, snowboarding and fitness training, you could say that he's now found his perfect driving partner - the Mazda RX-8.
