When you're sat at the wheel of any Mazda, you know there's a great racing heritage behind you. You're benefiting from a superb team. And our Mazda RX-8 Britcars are no exception: they too benefit from a fantastic team: headed up by Steve Guglielmi.
Steve's considerable contacts throughout the motor sport world mean we've access to a wealth of experience. First off there's the Team Technician Dan Taylor, who'll be with us most weekends. Dan's background includes a stint directing the set up who developed the TVR team. His TVR engineering experience is an invaluable addition to our racing approach.
Stuart Bitmead, a Workshop Manager, is also a Team Mechanic with us. His racing pedigree rests with Ferrari, where his work's seen servicing, restoration and race preparation on anything from classics to contemporary cars. And to think, Dan was first spotted repairing lawnmowers!
Team Technician David Didcock brings independent rallying expertise to the table. Starting out managing a large Parcel Force sorting office in Rugby, Dave's passion for cars means he hasn't looked back since joining Steve a couple of years ago.
Our final Team Technician is David Shaw. His is an engineering background and he works for a company that designs and manufactures parts for indy and expensive production cars.
The Chief Engineer, Sean Thompson, started out in 1979. Since then, his career has spanned many projects - and many countries. With a truly international background that's seen work for British, Irish, American, Brazilian and Italian owned companies, Steve brings a genuine 'world view' with him. He's also traded through Europe, Latin America and America and worked extensively in the Far East.
